If you’re reading this post in a feed reader, stop! Click over to the site right now and check out my new design. I purchased the Thesis theme for WordPress about a month ago and have been mired in CSS and PHP mods for the last month trying to come up with a fresh look for the site. I’m pretty happy with the result and I hope you all like it.
In addition to wanting to upgrade to a theme that allowed for more flexibility and customization and better SEO, I also wanted to give the blog a more professional look as I start to take on more freelance work and consulting projects. I’ve rearranged my work schedule such that I have more time for these kinds of opportunities now, so you’ll notice the consulting tab above. If your organization could benefit from some brainstorming on marketing, PR or social media strategies, please contact me (there’s a tab for that, too).
I’ve also spelled-out a comment policy and moved the site’s archive from the sidebar to its own page. The SMB-TV link above is where I’ll continue to post updates about Social Media Breakfast Tech Valley (I’m close to nailing down the details of our second SMB).
So what do you think? Take a look around and let me know how else I can improve.
Thanks for coming along with me on this blogging adventure for the last six months. I appreciate all the comments, feedback, tweets, links and just general love. You guys are the best!

Amy, this is a great-looking design. Well done. The layout is clean and open while allowing for a good-amount of information. You should be proud of the work you’ve put in to it. (I started to read this post in Google Reader, but opted to follow your copy and head over the blog itself. I am glad I did.)
Love the new design. As you know, I especially love your Consulting tab. Great idea! Been very fun to watch your blog–and your online persona–evolve these last six months. You’ve come a long ways, Mrs. Mengel. And I know you’ve worked very hard. Be proud.
Life’s a bowl of cherries, right? ;)
@arikhanson
Congratulations, Amy! I think your site looks great and, as Arik said, the consulting tab is fantastic. You’re so ready to hit the consulting side of things and I wish you all the best!
YOWZERS! Your new digs look FANTASTIC! It’s got everything that I’ve been wanting at Method + Moxie and MORE – It’s
* OPEN
* CLEAN
* INVITING
* WARM
* A GREAT REFLECTION OF YOUR PERSONALITY
A Truly Wonderful Place to Call Home!
The new design looks great- really clean and professional!
Wow! I’m very jealous! I must now go back to WordPress and play around with these new templates. I really like how you included the tabs across the top with your personal/professional information. Typically you would see these just listed on the right and this comes off as very professional! Great job!
Nicely done miss Mengel! Always enjoy your musings.
Me likey Amy! Nice, refreshing! Just like you! Best of luck and let me know if I can ever help you with anything at all.

Love the new look Amy. Great consulting page with solid offerings as well. So are you moving into more of a freelance/independent consultant role?
The site looks great, very well done. Inspiring me to finish tweaking my own and relaunch already!
Nicely done, Amy. You’ve showed me how much I have to learn about WordPress and design. Why not add that to your list of consulting services? ;)
Amy,
I’m so happy it’s finally live! It’s a great design. I like the inviting earthy colors, the good use of white space, and the easy navigation. I especially love how it’s not just a blog anymore – this is the site of your personal brand! It’s so inspiring! Amazing job! Now if I could just decide what to blog about… :)
I said it before, but I’ll say it again: I dig it! :)
And I am glad to see that you decided to stick with the bowl of cherries. It really does add a little something to the page and ties in nicely with the color scheme!
Congratulations on the re-launch, my dear!
Nice, Amy! Thesis is a great theme. I have a dev license as well. Love all the Gill Sans!
Amy, It’s quite a change. I’m glad to see that you’ll be able to spend more time working in on-line activities, especially the smackdown segments. Keep up the good work and I look forward to what comes next.
Oh yea, GOOOOO Dawgs. Sic’em
Congratulations. Very nice design.
Amy — great job all around, congrats on the new ventures. Looking forward to many more to come…
Jeez, I hate being so out of the loop! This looks great, Amy. Congrats, and congrats on shifting some of your time to consulting. Sounds like a great fit for you!
